Join our Novel Study Course for children ages 8 to 12 year old olds who read chapter books at Magnificent Minds. This is a unique opportunity for your child to be part of a group that studies a book for a term and then completes creative tasks about the book each week. Our course is designed to improve critical thinking, inference, and reflection skills, while also improving vocabulary and writing skills. Your child will have the opportunity to demonstrate their learning by creating projects based on the book they are studying. Sign up now and give your child the chance to develop a love for reading and learning This term we will be reading 'Holes' by Louis Sachar. Louis Sachar is the author of many popular and award-winning books for children. His book Holes won a Newbery award in 1999. The children will learn about the importance of friendship; how an author uses description grip a reader; the power of fate and coincidences; cruelty; survival, the passing down of families' stories; kindness; rules; getting to know someone before judging; develop analytical thinking and empathy along the way. $130 for the course of $15 a session.
