About Magnificent Minds

Magnificent Minds was created in early 2021 by founder Emma Davis, with the vision of empowering children through the creative arts and tailor made classes to suit the interests of the children. Our main aim is to give young people the tools to develop positive mental health and high self-esteem in an ever challenging world, whilst having secure numeracy and literacy skills. The programmes have been based on 5 years of research into positive psychology and over 20 years of experience teaching in the classroom,   to help the next generation feel more confident, and live happier, healthier lives.

Learning to truly know, accept and love yourself through self-expression is taught through music, dance drama, art, play, story writing and various meditations. Magnificent Minds helps children to tap into their natural gifts, and identify what brings them joy in their lives so that they are able to thrive and create the future they dream of. Magnificent Minds also uses a range of healing modalities such as sound, art, mindfulness, guided journeys, breath and somatic therapy to help young people who are struggling with self-worth, issues at school, or problems with relationships - be it family or friends.

Here at Magnificent Minds, we equip children with the tools and skills they need to feel confident enough to be their true unique selves and show this authenticity to the world without fear. ‘Be Yourself’ is the phrase every child will hear when they work with one of our facilitators. Magnificent Minds offers school holiday workshops, online group mentoring, one on one online and in person mentoring, healings as well as maths and English tuition and homeschooling options.

About Emma

Emma’s personal struggle with self-esteem issues, relationship problems, and anxiety while growing up led her onto a spiritual path of learning what things raise the human spirit, and what brings a sense of satisfaction, peace, and calm to a person’s life. She realised that having a strong sense of self, such as knowing your goals, values and what brings you joy were the key to a more fulfilling life. Emma found out that once you can connect to and understand yourself, and show up authentically, you are able to connect with and understand all.

Emma started working with children in 1999 when she trained to be a teacher at Brighton University in England. She spent two decades educating 5 to 14 year olds and absolutely loved her career. In her last 10 years of being in the classroom and working in New Zealand, she observed that children didn’t seem to be as confident as they used to be. There was more child anxiety and fear around the world they lived in and the pressures of today’s society. The children seemed to be becoming more scared of being creative and making mistakes. Emma introduced wellbeing programmes into her schools and completed many spiritual and therapy courses. She then decided that this was a passion she wished to pursue further as an energy worker and mentor.

Running workshops and working with children and teens one on one and in small groups over the last 2 years has been an amazing experience for Emma. She has noticed amazing results with the young people she has worked with, including friendship issues being sorted out, bullying issues stopping, increased confidence, and enhanced creativity. She has also observed how much this has helped children with diverse needs learn and cope. Her hope is that by teaching the children the tools to deal with life’s ups and downs they will have calmer adult lives, healthier relationships and a genuine love for learning.

Having moved around a lot as a teenager, Emma found it increasingly difficult to fit in and make friends. Although fairly loud and appearing to be confident she always felt a bit different. As an adult and reflecting on her younger years, she wished that there was a group she could have attended to develop self-confidence, where she could have learnt how to express herself in an authentic way and been accepted, and one where she could have learnt about emotional regulation, the nervous system and how to look after your energy. This was the beginning of the creation of  Magnificent Minds. It is Emma’s soul mission to inspire the next generation to live the most powerful, creative, joyful lives they can.
